The mission of the Bristol Bay Driftnetters’ Association is to enhance the Bristol Bay Drift Net Fishery by advocating for the viability of Bristol Bay’s fish resources; and to promote awareness of policy issues that affect the well being and businesses of the Drift Net Fishermen who use this renewable resource.
BBDA keeps Bristol Bay Drift Fishermen informed about: Board of Fish Proposals, setnet / driftnet issues, illegal high seas fishing and other intercept fisheries, safety regulations, and marketing, as well as many
other factors that impact our fishery.
FISH FIRST! SAY NO TO DIRTY GOLD
Fishermen we have an important opportunity to tell Alaska's Board of Fisheries that we want to see Bristol Bay Wild Salmon protected through the passage of Proposal 121. The aim of Proposal 121 is to ensure the protection and enhancement of fish spawning and rearing habitat in Upper and Lower Talarik Creek and the Koktuli River. Establishing a State Fish Refuge would help sustain the opportunities for commercial fishing in Bristol Bay.
Year after year, Bristol Bay produces MILLIONS OF FISH worth hundreds of millions of dollars, like no other place in the world. That's millions of reasons why we need to Save Bristol Bay.
